The library’s five Reference Librarians have more than 60 years of experience assisting library patrons with finding information and in developing research strategies. Anyone with questions about the library and the use of its materials should feel free to consult a Reference Librarian.
The Reference Department supports the research, scholarship, and learning missions of The University of Alabama School of Law. The department assists The University of Alabama, the legal community, and the public. Reference Librarians can assist you with your research and information needs. Reference librarians are seated at the Reference Desk adjacent from the Circulation Desk.

Reference Service Policy
The Reference Librarians’ primary role is instructional. They can provide directional assistance and offer one-on-one assistance in using legal research tools. It is the policy of this library that staff will not do anything which might be interpreted as the unauthorized practice of law.
